It's really difficult to describe this music, because I'm not aware of any sound-alike. Not even a remote one. However, I can say for sure that it's a quite peculiar, most interesting kind of prog rock that keeps on sounding interesting even after listening to it many times. The best remedy against progressive prog boredom depression. This guy deserves much more fame! He's brilliant.

Talented songwriter firing on all cylinders. Beautifully constructed album. Exciting narrative songs. Gives me that same melancholy feeling that Alice in Chains and Opeth manage but no one seems to be able to convey.

What can I say? Slatter has only gone and done a cover of the song that Tenacious D must have played to the devil, because frankly Wizards of this Town is the greatest song in the World, ever. No idea why I like it so much as it has random bits stuck together in a sub-prog style, but it just works. The rest of it is actually pretty reasonable as well, but you might not notice for a while as you'll have WIZARDS!!!! on repeat for a few hours before passing on to the next track.
